Life Saving Public Access Community Defibrillator Installed on Fordlands Road
- The Parish Council is delighted to announce that following a successful grant application to Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charity, a new community defibrillator has been installed at Cemetery Lodge on Fordlands Road in Fulford.
- This would not have been possible without the efforts and support from the people of Fulford and the Parish Council wishes to express its sincere thanks to Mrs Nic Dunn for her community spirited idea that started the process, along with her extraordinary fundraising efforts; to her 43 supporters who raised £870 through her fundraising campaign (https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/n-dunn?utm_term=EV3gverQ5); to Fulford & Heslington Ward Committee for their community grant of £220 and to Kevin Burbidge of KBE for the generous donation of his time and electrical expertise.
- This Life Saving Defibrillator is located on the external wall of Cemetery Lodge to the right-hand side of the office entrance within the pedestrian access gate to the Cemetery grounds. The Parish Council will fund the ongoing maintenance and act as one of the guardians for the defibrillator and the unit is registered on the British Heart Foundation National Circuit at https://www.defibfinder.uk/
- The Parish Council and Fulford Community Sports Club have also agreed donations to Fulford School to replace their vandalised unit at the school entrance on Fulfordgate and this will be installed and registered in due course.
