Committees & Working Groups

The council is organised into three main committees:

  • General Purposes
  • Cemetery
  • Planning

There are also a number of working groups:

  • Open Spaces – responsibility for playing fields, play equipment, allotments, village seats and notice boards and management of the Fulford Village Green
  • Planning – looks at planning applications and planning issues in and around Fulford. The group is also interested in green belt issues, the Fulford Conservation Area and preservation of trees in the Parish. It also has an interest in planning policy such as the Local Development Framework and green belt and has aided the Council in commissioning consultants to do reports for the Council in order to ensure that the character and history of Fulford is preserved.
  • Social Hall – Day to day management, repairs and updating of facility.
  • Cemetery management – issues surrounding the management of the Fulford Cemetery and the newly opened green burial area.
  • Fulford Climate & Ecological Emergency Working Group – working to tackle climate and ecological issues at a local level.

Terms of Reference for the Working Groups are set out in the Parish Council’s Standing Orders.
