A community-based group working to make Fulford greener.
This community-based group work together to think about priorities and actions to make Fulford greener. Lots of people know that the climate and the environment are in trouble, but it is hard to act in isolation. This group could learn from local people’s concerns, and also take ideas and information back out into the community. It will also keep the Parish Council up to date with local people’s priorities.
We might be most concerned about hedgehogs, or water-saving, or air pollution, or ways to reduce heating costs. There’s a whole range of issues for the group to think about and see what steps we can take together.
Aims of the group
- To engage with the community in Fulford and surrounding areas over climate and ecological issues
- To improve our green spaces for people and nature
- To raise awareness of environmental issues
- To minimise the contribution to climate change and its effects locally
- To promote sustainable practices by residents and businesses
- To identify local achievable projects we can undertake in conjunction with members of the community
- To share knowledge and signpost people
- To work in collaboration/partnership working with likeminded groups and organisations
- To measure the effect of what we do
- To organise events and activities
Get in touch or come along to a meeting and share your ideas in a friendly environment with refreshments.
